India Disability Cricket Team Welcomed at Madhu’s Mayfair Ahead of Lord’s
KP Smart Sports hosted a dinner at Madhu’s Mayfair on 18 August 2026 for the visiting India disability cricket team ahead of the Lord’s programme, with Baroness Scotland joining the team for conversation and an evening of welcome and connection.

On the evening of 18 August 2026, KP Smart Sports hosted a dinner at Madhu’s Mayfair for the visiting India disability cricket team ahead of the following day’s Festival of Disability Cricket at Lord’s. The full India team came together for an evening away from the cricket field, creating an opportunity for players, officials and invited guests to spend time together before the Lord’s programme.
The atmosphere combined a formal welcome with relaxed conversation, team moments and a number of short speeches during the evening. Baroness Scotland joined the gathering and spent time meeting and speaking with members of the team. Her presence created an opportunity for conversation around the players’ journey, disability cricket and the wider importance of visibility, inclusion and international sporting connections.
For KP Smart Sports, the dinner was part of its wider work around cricket, disability sport and international relationships. Founder Kamal Prabhakar welcomed the team and guests, helping bring together the sporting and relationship-building elements of the evening ahead of an important day at Lord’s.
The dinner also provided a valuable informal setting for the India delegation to meet supporters and partners connected with the wider programme. Photographs from the evening capture the team together, conversations between guests and players, speeches and the sense of anticipation ahead of the following day’s cricket.
The Madhu’s Mayfair dinner stands as a separate story from the Lord’s event itself: a welcome evening hosted by KP Smart Sports for the visiting India team, immediately before the players moved on to the international disability cricket programme at Lord’s on 19 August.
