GOPIO has signed two MOUs with the National Indian Students Union (NISU) of the United Kingdom and Upasana School of Performing Arts of Gujarat University (USPA-GU), based in Ahmedabad, India. GOPIO has signed two MOUs with the National Indian Students Union (NISU) of the United Kingdom and Upasana School of Performing Arts of Gujarat University (USPA-GU), based in Ahmedabad, India.
The NISU MOU furthers the objectives of both GOPIO and NISU to protect the interests of students of the Indian Diaspora. It utilizes the outreach and strengths of GOPIO and its Youth Council in collaboration with the initiatives and advocacy of NISU. GOPIO and NISU recognize that there is considerable scope and opportunities for mutual cooperation to further their collaborative objectives and mandates.
With the intention of facilitating greater awareness of issues related to students and youth in the Indian Diaspora, their respective countries of domicile and India, as well as to increase engagement of NRIs and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) students of the Indian Diaspora, GOPIO and NISU seek to collaborate on student and youth engagement and outreach to further these shared objectives of mutual interests.
The MOU was coordinated and supported by with Taha Kutay, Chairman (UKABC) , president of GOPIO Greater London Chapter, and signed by Sanam Arora , president of NISU. USPA-GU is a unique department catering to global outreach and internationalizing Indian academics, art, culture and traditions.
The areas of collaboration under this MOU include: Exchange of visits by nominees and academic staff for the purpose of teaching, research, performances and conducting workshops; exchange programs for students/ nominees; associating with GOPIO cultural council for promoting artists; participation in lectures, training and academic meetings; exchange of research materials in the fields of mutual interest; exchange of related publications in the field of performing arts; Exploring potential program collaborations.
